1. Reference Service
Ingham County Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public records, record indexes, and historical collections relevant to Ingham County, Michigan. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with any government office, court, library, or custodian.
2. Acceptable Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or information reached through it to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, harm, locate a protected person, commit fraud or identity theft, make FCRA-regulated decisions, scrape or republish content at scale, or interfere with security or operation.
3. Consumer Reporting Status
This service is not a consumer reporting agency as the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq., defines that term. Nothing here or returned by a linked search tool is a consumer report, and it may not be used to determine eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated purpose.
4. External Services
Government portals, libraries, archives, sponsored search tools, and other outside services have their own terms, privacy rules, pricing, and availability. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, security, or results.
5. No Warranty
The service is provided as is and as available. We make no warranty that content, links, coverage statements, or outside search results are accurate, complete, current, secure, or available at a given time.
6. Liability Limits
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this service or an outside resource, including actions taken from a record result.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arise from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The service's original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking and brief attributed quotation are permitted. Republishing complete pages or systematically copying content is not.
9. Term Changes
These terms may be updated by posting a revised version here. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the version then posted.
10. Access Restrictions
We may block or restrict access without notice when a user violates these terms, abuses a search tool, threatens another person, or interferes with service operation or security.
11. Michigan Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Michigan Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231 et seq., governs access to eligible public-body records, while court files, vital records, and confidential information have separate rules.
12. Severability
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
