Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. This is a private reference service. It cannot retrieve or certify records, verify a person's location, or change a government roll. Direct those requests to the office that holds the record. For an emergency, call 911. If someone is stalking or harassing you, contact local law enforcement.
Need a Particular Record?
Use the official custodian for records and copies. The Ingham County Register of Deeds is the public route for instruments, plats, and older land research; its office is on the second floor of the Ingham County Courthouse, 341 S. Jefferson Street, Mason, MI 48854. The public office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the vault runs 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment. Call 517-676-7216 for a vault appointment or record-copy question.
The County Clerk handles county-held vital records and election functions at 341 S. Jefferson Street, Mason, MI, with a Lansing branch at 313 W. Kalamazoo Street. Its published hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. lunch closure. Call 517-676-7201 for county Clerk or election information. Court copies should go to the particular court clerk, and Lansing municipal records need the city office rather than county FOIA.
